NYC Textile Week & Texworld USA Are Back this January with New Seminars
Texworld, the East Coast’s largest sourcing event for apparel fabric buyers and sourcing professionals, is back again in the Big Apple at the Javits Center, Jan. 23-25.
As consumer trends and buying behavior continue to change the marketplace, apparel suppliers and brands are being presented with new growth opportunities. Texworld USA aims to examine these opportunities in a series of new seminars featuring well-respected industry professionals as speakers and moderators.
Arthur Friedman, WWD Senior Editor of Textiles and Trade, is this season’s notable moderator. Friedman oversees the publication’s coverage of global apparel, manufacturing and sourcing, as well as fabrics and sustainability. In his 25 years at WWD, he has gained extensive experience in the complexities and nuances of the fashion industry, which include ready-to-wear, sportswear, accessories and activewear, as well as labor-management.
Among the topics that will be discussed is designers’ decision to show their collections in-season. The “Instant Fashion” seminar, moderated by Friedman, will explore how the move to “see now, buy now and wear now” fashion is impacting the textile and sourcing supply chain. Key speakers of this seminar include Kai Chow, Director of The Doneger Group, Metawear Founder and CEO Marci Zaroff, and David Sasso, VP of Sales at Buhler Quality Yarns Corp.
Comfort remains a hot topic. The seminar “Measuring Softness” will explain an exciting new tool to test the level of softness in textiles, hosted by Alexander Grüner, Global Marketing and Business Development Manager at Emtec, and Tricia Carey, Director of Global Business Development at Lenzing.
Discover what’s next in sustainability and how brands can find sustainable alternatives with an exchange of views and visions at the “Creating a Preferred Fiber and Materials Strategy” seminar. The panel, moderated by Sourcing Journal, will include Jeff Wilson, Textile Exchange Director of Business Value Strategy and Development, Better Cotton Initiative Membership Engagement Manager Daren Abney, Responsibility in Fashion Founder Robert Bergman, and Andreas Dorner, Commercial Director of Europe and America at Lenzing AG.
A must attend event for industry professionals, Texworld inspires and influences through fabric using a host of reliable, cutting-edge apparel textile companies.
